Thalassotherapia Crikvenica is a modern medical rehabilitation centre specializing in the treatment of diseases of the respiratory organs and the locomotor system and the ensuing rehabilitation. Its position beside the crystal-clear sea, alongside the beach and promenade, in a park with Mediterranean greenery, gives the centre a unique advantage for thalassotherapy treatment, recovery, and relaxation. Crikvenica has long been known for its climatic features whose health benefits are attested by medical science. A state-of-the-art medical approach is complemented by thalassotherapy treatment, yielding excellent results in the treatment of diseases of the respiratory organs and the locomotor system in children, adults, and the elderly.
The programme is intended for the treatment of chronic and allergic lower respiratory disorders such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchitis. For adult patients, the program is led by a pulmonologist, while children are in the care of a paediatric pulmonologist.
A therapy plan is designed in view of the specific condition of every patient. In most cases it will include inhalation therapy with seawater and essential oils, inhalation therapy with medication, throat and nose rinsing, respiratory kinesitherapy, breathing exercises, postural drainage and vibration massage. In addition to the medical treatments, climatotherapy through outdoor stays, exercising, walks, swimming, and other forms of outdoor physical activity by the sea and in the sea also significantly contribute to the recovery.
