The ninth conference on health tourism, Crikvenica International Health Tourism Conference, was held on the 4th and 5th of November at the Katarina Hotel in Selce and via Zoom.
How much interest there was for the CIHT conference this year as well, is shown by the data on the registration of participants from as many as 55 countries. The CIHT conference was held in a hybrid form in English, and for all those who could not physically attend the conference, it was broadcast virtually. The lectures were given by excellent experts in health, tourism, and marketing, competent to discuss the upcoming world trends and potentials of health tourism in Kvarner and Croatia.
"This year we proved that the interest in the CIHT conference is growing from year to year, all thanks to the numerous business contacts of participants and a very attractive program - 17 lecturers from nine countries spoke on topics that included opportunities for cooperation and promotion of Croatian health tourism products in the US market, connecting different segments of tourism, such as health, cultural, sports and others, and our lecturers also looked at the latest trends in health tourism. We have enriched this year's program by bringing six Italian agencies with which participants could hold B2B meetings, and a business workshop on the development of health tourism destinations was organized, "said assist. prof. Vladimir Mozetič, MD, PhD, MHA, president of the Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster.
At the end of the CIHT conference, Kristijan Zulle, Ambassador of the World Wellness Weekend for Croatia, on behalf of the founder Jean-Guy de Gabriac, presented the Wellness Champion Award to Dr. Vladimir Mozetič, President of the Cluster. The Wellness Champion Award was also presented to the Crikvenica Tourist Board for its successful participation in the World Wellness Weekend and was received by the director Marijana Biondić.
“Every year at the CIHT conference we manage to gather renowned experts from all over the world who during this year's CIHT in Crikvenica, a city where the development of tourism in the 19th century began with health tourism, presented new knowledge, shared experiences, and best practices and discussed current trends in health tourism. This year's CIHT was rich in content and opportunities for new business contacts and collaborations, and the hybrid edition of CIHT contributed to greater visibility of the conference. In this way, Crikvenica, Kvarner, and the whole of Croatia received an additional promotion in 55 countries and 6 continents from which the conference was watched. I am proud that we once again managed to make Selce and the Crikvenica Riviera the center of exchange of new information and knowledge about health tourism for two days and that we received very positive remarks from our lecturers and participants about the conference, which gives us additional motivation for further activities related to the development of health tourism, ” said Marijana Biondić, director of the Crikvenica Tourist Board and founder of the conference.
