The IMTJ Medical Travel Summit is one of the largest health tourism conferences in the world, bringing together more than 300 leading health tourism professionals each year.
The Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster has attended the IMTJ Medical Travel Summit, the largest health tourism conference in the world, that was held this year from 1st till 3rd December in Berlin. By attending the IMTJ Summit, in addition to the Kvarner Region Tourist Board, the Cluster has promoted the health tourism offer of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, as well as the offer of its thirty members. This was also the first opportunity for the Cluster to present its new brochure in English and German.
This year's Summit brought together more than 350 participants from 55 countries from the medical, facilitator, scientific and marketing fields, as well as experts from various clusters, tourist boards, insurance companies, communications and other related fields of the health tourism industry. After successfully bringing the IMTJ Summit to Opatija in 2017, this year, with the Bagatin Clinic, it is the Golden Sponsor of the conference, which is an opportunity for even greater visibility of the Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster.
For the fifth consecutive year, following the conference in Athens, Opatija, Madrid, and London, the IMTJ Summit brought together eminent experts to share their knowledge and experience and ensure the long-term development of the industry. With lectures from 42 speakers and four blocks of lectures and discussions each day of the conference, participants were able to learn about best practices, EU directives, cluster development, the future of the healthcare and tourism industry, patient experience as well as many other key topics, and make useful business contacts.
At the aforementioned conference, the Cluster won its first prize in the category "Health and Medical-Tourism Cluster of the Year" in 2016, after less than two years of activity, which was the best proof that the Cluster is successfully fulfilling its mission, ensuring even better development of the health tourism offer of our region and positioning Kvarner on the European map of health tourism destinations. Two years later, the Cluster entered the finals with the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council and the Gran Canaria SPA Wellness & Health Association in the same category.
